Waconia Waters Forum

Our Waters, Our Community

Do you enjoy the boating, fishing, swimming on the Lakes in Waconia? Do you enjoy the seasonal scenery and culture the lake brings to our community? In recent years, monitoring data has shown increasing levels of phosphorus in the lake –which lead to algae blooms. This forum will address the following topics;

  • The health status of Lake Waconia and other lakes and creeks in Waconia.
  • Current threats to lakes and creeks.
  • What has been done to protect the lakes/creeks and what is planned.
  • Opportunities and actions to keep lakes clean and vibrant.

With a depth of 37 feet and acreage of 3080, Lake Waconia is the 3rd largest lake in the metro area. It serves as a vital part of the local community with recreational, economical, and health benefits. Meet the people working on pollution prevention projects, aquatic invasive species and more and ask them your questions.
