Events & Happenings in Carver County

Minnesota River Trip

  • Date: 08/26/2017 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM  

Come on a great Mark Twain style adventure complete with canoes and a sandbar picnic! Carver County Parks Department instructors will guide you from Jordan to Chaska on a quiet 10-mile stretch of the Minnesota River. Expect to see many bird species and enjoy the lunch provided by staff part way through the trip. Never been canoeing? No problem—trained instructors will provide stroke and safety instruction before launching. Space is limited, please register early! Come prepared for the weather with sunscreen, shade hat, reusable water bottle, a snack, secured sandals or water shoes and a change of clothes.

 

Public Boat Launch Winkel Park, Chaska (park here, shuttle will be provided to Jordan boat launch)

9am-1pm (program time may vary based on the river’s flow)

Ages 8+ Youth must register and participate with a registered adult

$25 Res/$30 Non-Res (Cost includes shuttle, equipment, instructor, & lunch)
