DESCRIPTION:<p>Help us paddle the Minnesota River (from Ortonville to St. Paul) in a single day! This&nbsp;FREE EVENT&nbsp;is offered&nbsp;by Carver County as a participant in the DNR's Minnesota's State Water Trails event 'Minnesota River in a Day' for beginner level paddlers!</p><p>Carver County Parks is guiding a fleet of canoes on the 7.5mile section of&nbsp;the Minnesota River from&nbsp;the City of Carver to Shakopee.&nbsp;The river is very scenic with the opportunity to spot lots of birds! Canoes, paddles, safety equipment and PFDs (life jackets) will be provided.</p><p>A shuttle is <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>not </strong></span>provided.&nbsp;Participants should drop one vehicle at the Shakopee public boat access (Hwy 101/1st Av, 1 blk N to city park, &amp; Scott St, N to Levee, E to park.) and then drive another vehicle&nbsp;to the put-in at Riverside Park in the City of Carver (300 Main St. East, Carver MN 55315). Please meet at the put-in by 8:45am. (If you are not able to provide the vehicles necessary for this trip, please let us know in your registration and we will help you work something out!)</p><p>Participants should bring a sack lunch, snacks, sunscreen, reusable water bottle, shoes that can get wet, and clothing appropriate for the weather. Ages 6+ only please. Youth must register and participate with an adult. Children under 8 years old will be asked to ride along with minimal paddling. You may register online or call 952-466-5261.
