SUMMARY:'A Kid's Life' Camp
DESCRIPTION:<p>Picture your kids in their natural habitat... During this five-day camp, your child will have the freedom to explore Waconia’s natural playscape of parks, libraries, and historic places from the perspective of their favorite critters. Through our unique recreation, history, and literacy curriculum, campers will splash like a loon on the water with our stand-up paddleboards in the summer sun. They will discover critter habitats by building shelters and geocaching. Learn about composting, solar energy, and experience lots of other crafty activities and camp craziness! Kids will learn firsthand about the history of Minnesota forests by trying the great sport of log rolling and more. They’ll even get to meet some crawly critters during a live reptile presentation! This camp encourages teamwork, nature exploration, and a love of reading while promoting a healthy lifestyle for children entering 3rd-6th grade. Staff will accompany campers as we bike daily from Waconia Regional Park to Waconia Library and the Historical Society then bike back to Waconia Regional Park for pick-up. Bikes will remain secured at the park (indoors) overnight. Please come prepared for the weather and equipped with a backpack daily that includes: reusable water bottle, snacks, lunch, sunscreen, hat, closed toed shoes, bug spray, and swimwear, towel, &amp; sandals for the final day. Bikes &amp; helmets are required and should be dropped off on Monday and picked up on Thursday.&nbsp; The entire day Friday will be based at the Andrew Peterson Historic Farm in Waconia. </p>
<p>Lake Waconia Regional Park (Historical Society, Library, &amp; Andrew Peterson Historic Farm)</p>
<p>9:00-4:00pm Daily&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </p>
<p>$130/camper, includes a camp t-shirt</p>
<p>Ages: Entering 3rd-6th Grade </p>
<p>**Partnered with Waconia Parks**</p>
<p>Register online at <a href="http://www.waconia.org/recconnct">www.waconia.org/recconnct</a> or by calling Waconia Park &amp; Recreation at 952-442-5802</p>
